Amul ghee is formed by simmering cow's milk over low heat until it separates. The solids that accumulate during the simmering process are then skimmed off and the resulting liquid is clarified butter, also known as ghee. The ghee is then strained through a cloth, cooled, and stored.

What Criteria Make The Ghee High-Quality?

There are some basic criteria on the basis of what we can consider ghee whether the ghee is high quality or not.

  • Milk should be A2, which means milk should be obtained from A2 cows such as Sahiwal, Gir, red Sindhis, Hallikar, Tharparker, etc. 
  • Ghee should be made from grass-fed A2 cows. 
  • It must be made from curd. 
  • It should be made by the Bilona method. 
  • It should be FSSAI-approved.

It is obtained through a traditional method known as bilona. It is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process that preserves the wholesomeness of this superfood.
