Shahji Cow Ghee is made from Jersey Breed Cow's Milk.These are grass-fed cows and Jersey Cow Ghee is in many ways unique. As a product it contains:- 18% more protein, 20% more calcium, 25% more butterfat than "average" milk.  


Ghee contains good amount of healthy fats, vitamin A, E and D.Ghee is full of omega-3 fatty acids, which are good fats and are essential for improving the brain and heart health. So, overall, we can say that ghee is quite nutritious and healthy.


The traditional method of making ghee (bilona) is quite elaborate. Cow's milk is boiled and cooled. Then a spoonful of curd is added to this milk and kept at room temperature overnight. The curd is then churned to extract butter from it and then boil it to get Pure Gir Cow Ghee.

Jersey Cow Breed
1. Our Cow Desi Ghee is made up from Jersey breed cow.It is of small short-horned dairy cattle originating on Jersey, one of the Channel Islands; it is believed to have descended from cattle.Today, the Jersey breed is the second largest breed of dairy cattle in the world.
2. Their bodies are typically slightly reddish, dark brown, or mixed in color. They have a comparatively large head and generally do not have a hunchback.

3. Jersey Cow milk per day 30-35 litre/day. Milk yield – 5000-8000 kg/per year approximately.
4. Jersey Cow's milk is remarkably rich in butterfat, and for that reason animals of this breed are in demand for crossing with native stock to improve the butterfat percentage in milk.
Traditional Bilona Process
Bilona is the traditional method of making ghee. In this method, Cow’s milk is boiled and coole to a cetain temperature. Then a spoonful of curd is added to this milk and kept at room temperature overnight to make curd. The curd is then churned to extract butter from it. This butter is then boiled so that the water evaporates leaving behind pure desi ghee.
Significance of Vedic Method
The churning process is executed by using wooden churners (bilona). For the heating process, cow dung is the most beneficial fuel. Bilona is either hand-churned or churned via a motor. As a result, this ghee retains more vitamins and nutrients owing to its low-heat preparation.
